MITCHELL POIRIER, 13, of New Haven Township and a member of the Shiawassee Porkmasters 4-H Club, had the Grand Champion Individual Market Hog in the heavyweight division at this year’s Shiawassee County Fair.

Brian Marks (holding the Grand Champion banner) from All Purpose Services purchased the 270-pound hog for $2.75 per pound during the annual Junior Livestock Association Auction on Friday, Aug. 8, at the Fairgrounds Arena. KEY COMPONENTS - The key components of the new city of Perry Iron Removal Plant were delivered Monday, Aug. 10, to the Well Field on Ellsworth Road in Perry Township.

The new filtration plant utilizes a series of LayneOx lined vessels, each containing proprietary media to filter out undesirable elements and improve the city’s water supply.
